Background

Revenue Board (Punjab) was established a long time ago and has a history of decades which is detailed below:

After the annexation of Punjab to British India in March 1849, the administration was established to administer the province. In February 1853, the council was followed by the office of Chief Commissioner, Punjab. The governor and the governor were assisted by a justice commissioner and a finance commissioner

The Punjab Commissioner of Finance was responsible for assessing and collecting land revenues and keeping records of fundamental rights. He was assisted by the Settlement Commissioner, the Division Commissioner, and Deputy District Commissioners/Collectors.

The Office of the Commissioner of Finance was abolished in 1955 and succeeded by the Revenue Board, West Pakistan (now Punjab)
