About (Pak Army)
The Pakistan Army came into existence as a result of the amalgamation of Muslim soldiers of the British Indian Army before independence. The origins of many of its units dating back to the beginning of British rule in the subcontinent. However, this relationship is only of a historical nature. With the birth of Pakistan, different from the old and established British Indian Army, a fascination of unorganized and unorganized soldiers was transformed into a disciplined fighting force in line with national ideals and aspirations.
On 3 June 1947, the British government announced plans for the partition of the subcontinent between India and Pakistan and the transfer of power to two new states on 15 August 1947. On 30 June 1947, the process of partition was agreed upon by the Partition Council headed by Lord Mountbatten, the Viceroy of India, and consisting of top leaders of the Muslim League and the Indian Congress on the Armed Forces. Field Marshal Auchinleck, then C-in-C India, was appointed supreme commander under Mountbatten to ensure a smooth division of units, stores, etc. On 1 July 1947, it was announced that by 15 August 1947 both countries would have operational control of their respective armed forces.
